Start:

Egremont Amblers Wellbeing Walk

Walk to suit all ages and abilities. Usually an hour walk to suit the weather and participants of the day.

Low impact walk with plenty of opportunities to stop, have a chat and get to know the area a little better.

We recommend comfortable walking shoes and bringing a bag with a snack and a drink.  However, at the end of the walk we have the opportunity to have a cup of tea/coffee and catch up in the De Lucy Centre for anyone who wishes to stay.

On the Leaders Team we have Lenny with local knowledge of the area and Yvonne who works for the NHS Mental Health Team.

There is a bus to Egremont from Whitehaven.

Parking in the town of Egremont is usually in a two hour disk zone for free.  There is also free parking in the housing estate just behind the main street.

Copeland Wellness Service Walks - Cleator Moor (Walk with Friends)

Walk and Talk - Improve your health and wellbeing with us.

Out and back walk along the C2C route setting off from Skills 4 U Cleator Moor, parking is available in the small tarmacked car park.  We join the track from Phoenix Bridge and follow the route of the old Railways, which were built in the 1850’s to carry the coal and iron ore from the mines and quarries that were once very active in this area.   The walk takes you up towards Parkside and has breath-taking views of Ennerdale Valley.  There is a small section which is lined with beautiful trees and has a very peaceful feel allowing you to connect with the surroundings and nature.  Along the route there are a number of metal sculptures designed by the children from local primary schools.  Overall this is a very pleasant route which is suitable for all abilities, seating areas are available along the way for rest stops if required.

If the weather is good and people are able, we can walk into the wood. It is accessible to prams, wheelchairs and mobility scooters if we have prior notice. Sometimes there is livestock in the fields adjacent to the path. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times. Birdwatchers will see and hear some interesting birds.  For those who want a cup of coffee – or even lunch at the end of the walk we usually head up to the Manor Hotel in St Bees.

Copeland Wellness Service - Whitehaven Harbour and Coast

We enjoy a ramble along the inner harbour walls and along the coastal path towards the locally named “whitey rock”. We’ll enjoy the sounds of the waves washing up on the beach, the sounds of seagulls and the sights of boats gently swaying in the marina. With plenty of opportunity to break the walk into sections, this walk is gentle, social and friendly.
