Jen and Sim Benson have been testing walking gear on behalf of the Ramblers since 2019.  With a wealth of outdoor and walking experience they have tested all kinds of walking related kit, from boots and poles to jackets and wellies. 

Award-winning writers and photographers, Jen & Sim have written and photographed ten books on walking, running and outdoor adventures, including three books in the Day Walks series, 100 Great Walks with Kids and The Adventurer’s Guide to Britain.  

Jen has a degree in podiatry and an MSc in sport & exercise medicine. Sim graduated in environmental earth science and is a qualified England Athletics running coach with a background in orienteering, climbing and mountaineering.
